在被關押之後，由於認為自身遭到ICE的非法拘留，劉亮透過律師向法庭申請「人身保護令」，在關押了三個月之後，今年1月底終於獲得釋放。「剛進去的時候，雖然比較憤怒，心裡面有不甘，但通過這90天在裡面，每天按照他們的作息......在裡面也讓自己得到了一段時間的休整吧。」
